Out and about....street savvy

From Fashionistable
When I saw Jessica she was stopping people, getting them to wear her hat and then taking their picture. However for me she looked the coolest in it, tough and gentle all at the same time. Jessica is the designer behind the Hardware London label and the hat is from her own brand. She is also wearing an Arrogant Cat coat with a vintage fur, a top she has fashioned from an old pair of leggings, Adidas trousers and Nike shoes and her clutch is also vintage.
Like most people these days Jessica is multi talented and sometimes works as a DJ. Her favouite places in London are Camden and Portobello Rd.

Out and about....project Filofax (final day) - Colour Brown

Now I have to say when I received all the colours for this Filofax challenge of all of them I thought that the Brown Chameleon would be the most difficult to find someone for. But was amazed when Yonan crossed my path she was perfect for this. The colours she was wearing perfectly compliment this Filofax. Yonan is from a region in China called Tsingtao which she told me is also the name of her nations favourite beer. Her style influence is taken from paintings. With Van Gough being her favourite painter. Her surprise was that she lives almost like a monk, she is a vegetarian and doesnt drink or smoke. However unlike a monk she does have sex. Yonan is wearing vintage Dior glasses, her shirt and bowtie are also vintage, shorts and belt are American Apparel, tights are from Topshop and her shoes are Adidas.

Out and about....always in heels

From Fashionistable
Arabella told me she was always in heels. Rob backed her up and said he had never seen her in anything other than heels. They look great together even though their style influences are quite different. Rob describes himself as a "big, big 90's hip hop fan even for a skinny white boy". It is all about sneaker culture for him. For Arabella it is the 1960s print and pop. She likes to follow street style blogs and also the enigmatic Anna Dello Russo who is a favourite. When dressing, where she can she likes to mix high and low end together. Rob is at Uni studying History of Art. His favourite period being the 17th Century. Arabella works in event production. I should have asked them how they met. Surprisingly Rob is fluent in Hungarian as he lived there for 5 years "not the most useful language to be fluent in the world." (Some great photographers came out of Hungary though, Robert Cappa for example.) Arabella's Mum writes knitting books so as a result she knows how to knit very well. Here Arabella is wearing a hat knit by herself, an Oasis coat, her sweater and boots from Zara, Unique skirt from Topshop and a Hennes bag. Rob is sporting a New Era cap, his sneakers are Air Jordon 1s "it is always Nike for sneakers. I am a one brand man". His shirt is Uniqlo, sweater from an American vintage website, Levi jeans and Adidas jacket.

Out and about....blue and green

From Fashionistable
I was lucky to catch Amy just as she was leaving work for the day and amazingly, what she was wearing beautifully complimented the colours of the building opposite. When I asked Amy what or who her style influence was she told me Annie Lennox. Good strong choice I say. Annie is brilliant.
Today Amy's look is made up of jacket from Reiss, green short top from Topshop, black top and trousers from All Saints, Her belt is from a vintage in 7 Dials near Covent Garden. Amy picked up her bag while she was on a trip to NYC and finally her shoes are Adidas. I love the way the colour and trim of the shoes tie in with the blue of the jacket.
Initially when I asked Amy to tell me something surprising about herself she told me once sold organic chocolate in a store in Devon. She is now an account exec in an Ad agency. However she then later went on to tell me she used to be the deputy editor of fashion and sports magazine Anglomania. It was doing really well locally but when it decided to go global it hit a wall and then the financial crisis unfortunately hit too. So sadly the magazine folded. She then decided this was probably a more surprising fact about her than the chocolate shop.

Riki and Jessy
From Fashionistable

Alex and Milo
From Fashionistable
From Fashionistable
Don't Riki, Jessy, Alex and Milo look great. They were very cool too. They all go to different schools but met each other through friends. Mostly their style is inspired by music. For Riki it is Yannis Philippakis from Foals. Oh and the Bombay Bicycle Club. Milo likes old Brit pop and especially the The Libertines for Alex it is Florence and the machine or Bloc Party. For Jessy though it was her mum who was a fashion designer before she came along.
Riki is wearing a T from Uniqlo, jeans from Red Herring and Nike shoes. Jessy has on short dungarees from River Island, top from Adidas, amazing tights from a trip to France. Her boots are Urban Outfitters and her bag is Paul Smith. Alex wears 2 jackets - the outer one is from Rokit, the inner hoodie is from American Apparel. Her stripy T and leggings are from H&M and her boots like Jessy are also Urban Outfitters. Milo has on a hoodie also from American Apparel, the all important black and gold Fred Perry polo, jeans from H&M and shoes from Vans. He then went on to tell me that his boxers were Calvin Klein which made everyone smile.
