Out and about....Skate Somerset House

Last night I spend a few hours at Somerset House photographing the lovely people who were invited to start off the skating season there. It is such a beautiful romantic location. If you like to skate I can't imagine a better place to skate outdoors. Running along side is the Somerset House Christmas Arcade. I just popped in briefly but plan to go back and will post instagram pic's when I do. Skating, shopping and muled wine all in one place. Sounds like a good day/night out to me.

Out and about....October Street Chic part 1

Here is the first of my weekly winter installments for Street Chic. To see the rest of the images click here. Two of the images here were shot in Somerset House. I had gone there to see the Tim Walker exhibition, which was amazing. Story Teller is the perfect name for his new book. He certainly is a master story teller. I cannot tell you how much I love his work. He is by far my favourite living photographer. If you are in London you should pop along. The exhibition also incorporates props from his shoots and the images are not only on the walls but also displayed in packing crates amongst the props - see below and on Instagram @Fashionistable for a taste of what to expect. I am going back. It was also lovely to see the beautiful majestic expanse of Somerset House without an event going on in the courtyard. I was able to use the space in a way I have never been able to before.

I want to go shopping with Andreea from Dreaming of Chanel. Can you believe that everything she is wearing is high street. I was bowled over when she told me what she was wearing. It is so beautifully put together. Here goes, coat Zara, skirt Forever 21, jewellery New Look, watch River Island, shoes and bag Primark, belt Topshop and earrings Chanel. When asked for a surprise she told me she just loves life. Me too.

Out and about....mellow yellow

From Fashionistable
Stephanie is a student and was helping out at LFW during the shows in Somerset House - or the mother ship as a lot of us all call it.The helpers were all wearing this lovely scarf she has on. I wonder who is is by? When she finishes Uni Stephanie would like to be a fashion buyer, then she will be able to see the shows from the other side. Her lovely yellow coat is from River Island.

Out and about....Roz part 2

Quite a few other people took pictures of Roz in this outfit. The blue and yellow is a striking combination. I love how people make use of scarves in their hair. I only wish I could do the same.
In her own words (lifted from her blog -hope that is OK Roz) this is what her outfit is comprised today
"The denim dress is vintage Calvin Klein, bought off ebay. The headscarf is Charlotte Taylor, the bag was from a charity shop stall at the Big Chill music festival and the belt was my paternal Grandma's. I think her late son (my dad's brother) made the buckle? The shoes and tights are both from ebay." To see part 1 click here.

Out and about....Somerset House

From Fashionistable
Esther was on her way out of Somerset House when I spotted her, it was her shoes that caught my eye. When I caught up with her she was surprised but happy to come back in with me so I could take her picture. When I was directing Esther during the shoot she said "oh it feels like a proper shoot." Turns out Esther was one of the front runners from the big American influx to the shows as she is a fashion writer for US Vogue I photographed her a day before the rest arrived.
