Out and about....colourful and fun

I think that Kay's lovely smile says a lot about her it is great. Style wise she told me that her influences were Hitchcock films, cosmetics from the 60's, and clothing which allows her to show her character. For this look I love the way she has taken one solid base colour and added a riot of other colours around it. Kay is an artist and incorporates photography, painting and textiles into her work. She feels by mixing the media it allows her to create something new. To supplement her student income she works in a store in Carnaby St called Year Zero. It was only when I was processing my close up of her that I realised the needles on her T made it look like she was being injected. My aim had been to show you her accessories. Now it looks edgy and pretty all at the same time. Her T and trousers are from Year Zero. Then all the added colour is -  vintage scarf from Deptford market, earrings Topshop, denim shirt H&M, boots DM's, there are so many great variations of these around at the moment it is making me wish for a pair again. Her bracelets are from Funky Bling and she said her bag was random from Pop.

This is STYLE. I like style that shows personality. The DMs set her look off nicely.

If I'm not mistaken, her style is very East London-(Brick Lane/Shoreditch). I see this alot in this part of town where everyone has got a very individual sense of style.
Well spotted D.

Gorgeous glorious colour. I do love people who can carry this look off. She does look lovely although I'm struggling to see the Hitchcock influence although the great headband is a nod and maybe the injections are reminiscent of many a Hitchcock film!

BTW would it be ok if I used your photo of Laura and credit of course for my interview??! xx

Amazing. The style is totally over-kitsched, but the allover look is just perfect and eye-catching and not at all too much. later, FashionLifeCoach

What a beauty. There is so much going on and IT WORKS! I put it down to her personality. All the pictures are wonderful, but the first picture is incredible (I wonder, did she know about the effect?) xxx

Thanks for another lovely comment, I've been away from blogging for a while now, too much to do, too little time. Anyway, I've just caught up on your posts, I love the LFW coverage you did, you got some great shots! Also, congrats on the Phoenix magazine work, I'm happy to see your street style shots getting the recognition they deserve.

Have you heard any more on the Vogue Photoblog comp? Fingers crossed for you.

Speak to you soon. x
