I had never been to Milan before and was thrown in at the deep end. The 1st day there I spent mostly walking from show to show. Not easy I can tell you as they are not always close together. 2nd day I managed to get a couple of press buses. Not ideal either as at times they leave a bit to early to catch people as they leave the shows or not early enough to reach the next show in time....hey. Public transport or taxis I hear you cry, well the trams are lovely but not extensive and the Metro also has little coverage. Taxis, you cant flag down a taxi you have to call (language barrier) them or find a hotel to call one for you. And when you do get a taxi oh boy they are expensive, makes London cabs look positively cheap. It was a great experience all the same though. And to be shooting for Vogue was just so amazing.
You can view my Vogue shots here. There are 24 up there now. More to follow.

Oh Dvora - your vogue shots are amazing - Milan is mad - my man's mother is from the lakes and whenever i go it is totally mad but i love it - i take the car which no-one can believe - then shut my eyes - as passenger that is (well most of the time!) xxx

Lol @ fashion and frank! Dvora, I must have let the slideshow run a gazillion times!! Loved the photos, as you know. This is the first of Battaglia that I've seen in this attire- LOVE! The opportunity to do this for Vogue sounds memorable, super well done! xx from Soleil

Dvora - glad to have you back. I adore Milan. Such a lovely city to explore. I especially adore the arts there. I must pop over to Vogue and peek at your brilliant photography. Will you be in Paris, too?
It's great that you bumped into the beautiful Giovanna: she has such a great style and I'm pretty sure she's wearing a Marni coat..! Really hope that Vogue will send you to other FW...

Love this shot and the Vogue shots!
Sorry to hear about the hecticness of running to and fro. London taxis looking cheap?! Wow...I never realised before that other countries charged more!

Her jacket is amazing. I love the detail, even though it's extremely different.

That coat she has on is just fabulous. And yeah, language barrier is such a pain when you're travelling.

I love this story! It's so Italian! ; )
I had similar problems with LFW - just one day, really, and one bus driver (and granted, he was right: it wasn't even the press bus, it was the Buyers Bus) but it was more of a English story. This is so so Italian, and that's what I love about Italy. I was once with friends on an Italian island - Ischia - and a friend named Roma, from Rome, discovered, while we were in a cafe, that on TV they were announcing a train strike and we had to evacuate the island. She was furious: 'So typical,' she said.
Your photos are lovely, Dvora. Thank you for taking the time to comment, in between covering MFW. Are you in Paris now? Or back home?
It was lovely to meet you too - even quickly. We must meet up again soon! xx
p.s. Got so sidetracked I forgot to say what I came her to say: that is the most gorgeous shot of Giovanna Battaglia! I love the pattern on pattern things she's got going on, and those sunglasses, while such a difficult shape to pull off, suit her face beautifully.
the coat is amazing! Where on earth she gets something like this? Thanks for the inspiring photos once again. What an experience to be shooting for vogue.

It's not easy to get a good shot of Giovanna, and this one is amazing, Dvora. My guess is her coat actually is Marni (pattern and cut-wise).
You so-so-so deserve to be shooting for Vogue - the photos are great!

P.S. I read Vespa is the way to go in Milan :)
I adore her, and that mix of print.
Fabulous shot.
